Here's the thing. I got to go fast because my phone is, I guess, got like 30%. Okay. You need to watch Angel because... Which we have started a little bit, but it gets into the specific excuse paper. It gets into this whole subplot, which is so funny. And it's like this, um, this law firm. It's called Wolferman Heart, and it's like, uh, it's like this really fancy law firm. And so Angel, obviously the PI, is catching all these demons. And we were starting to see it where they had like and he threw the guy with the window. That was one of the people who worked with the law firm. And it's like they're getting all of the demons off on these charges. And because they have like they have like money or whatever or whatever, they're making, they have something basically that this firm wants. And they, um, so they're like basically getting everybody that angel's catching out. who are like criminals. I see. So it turns out that this law firm is like fully caters specifically to demons and like, uh, and like monsters and, uh, and is like super wealthy and like well resourced and like is like pissed off that Angel keeps catching all these people. They're like their clients and like fucking with their cases. And, uh, so it gets into this whole moral dilemma. And so that's, okay, we were talking about my job and how I really like it, even though it makes me feel icky that higher ed and like maybe ASU specifically are like problematic in so many ways. But you know, like systems are problematic. Our systems are problematic because everybody who made them was old, an old white dude, and continues to run those, most of those things. It's like, that's always just been a problem. Like, It's like anywhere that I go, any kind of job I would want to do, I'd be supporting a system that supports capitalism and war. It's very hard not to. It's just like, even in like nonprofits, that it's like, it's like all, like a lot of it goes back and like not maybe the best way or not the ways that we intend them to be. It's just like the morals behind it. But anyway, so that just reminds me of Angel because like the people who work for the law firm are just like normal humans. And they're just like, they're just like love. They're just like. demons as well? I think, I mean, maybe some of them are, but like for the most part, just like a bunch of humans. I think it's a bunch of humans because specifically, they can provably be human, like if needed. Like they, the lawyers. Oh, I stopped it by something. Um, But yeah, it's just really funny because you see these people who are like, like, you get like kind of the the spike, um, where they become friendly foes kind of storyline, which I love that trope. I feel like that's something that we really lost in like the... to friends or friends to enemies to lovers. Like, it's like scary. Like, scary, dangerous faux turns into like kind of bumbling sidekick, like... Like, I feel like that happens with some of the lawyers in this an angel too. And it's like you see their humanity and it's just like the morals of you working for this crazy company. Like, what is, like, how do you how do you manage this contradiction in this conflict? It's like, we all have those conflicts of interest because we all are just working under capitalism. And I feel like as a society, we need a course on this. Is this going to be my 1st course? don't know. What the fuck? I need to go put on pants or something. I'm getting eaten by mosquitoes. But dude, this would be, I could write this as a, this would be a good paper. It would be a food paper. A question. What if this is my applied project? Because I just, like, I make a class called, uh, like, Wolfram and heart, except I spell it. It's it's wolfram and heart is the thing and it's like, uh, those are all like demon things, like in the in Buffy. They're an angel. Same universe? Yeah. I'm trying to like, I'm already spinning off on titles and like spitballing. ways I could. Well, if you're like a law student and you're like, I want to go get my internship. And you're just applying places and this wolf from a hard place takes you as an intern. And the whole thing is just kind of like, um, the fuck there's demons. Exactly. It's like, well, the whole, like, in Buffy, like, there's like a whole secret government organization. It's just like a bunch of college students and they're all like, yeah, I'm like actually a trained, like, secret government agent that just like kills demons and I'm like 19. Like, those things we think are, they can like jump over those mental gymnastics in their mind because it's for like the greater good in their mind. And it's like they make a lot of jokes on Angel about how, uh, like being a lawyer, like they already don't have any souls, LOL. Like, they already had to sign over their souls, LOL, except it turns out in the show that, like, that's actually a thing. And it's like, oh, it's like, it's like, what if they just took it that extra step and made it literal when in real life, we have, we make those same analogies. We talk about blood in the water and like we talk about these lawyers being vicious. It's like, what's the difference? Like, in reality, like, you're causing just as much harm, if you're, like, operating under this system that is not really a just system. Interesting. I know what I'm saying. School of transformation, you think? Or do you think, like, Look, honestly, I wish that any of my other friends, I don't think any of my friends watched Wuffy growing up. I need to find somebody stats. I don't think so. I don't think she was a buffy girl, which is weird. Surprised he didn't share that with her. You know what? I bet she would love to watch it now. She loves a throwback show. As evidence. Throwback marathon. By the 6th scream movies, back to back to back. Yeah, and you know what? The other day, she was feeling she took a sick day and she was just like, fuck work. I'm just like, whatever, I just need like a mental health day. And she was feeling kind of guilty about it. But then she like cleaned her full apartment. She lit some candles. She turned on one of those screams and she was like, I'm just like feeling so cozy right now. I'm like, that is exactly what I would do if I needed some comfort. Yeah. That's perfect. I don't know why, just like, spot on? It's perfect. Do you know what? Okay, so this is, I'm still recording, because this is an idea I want to revisit. Okay, keep going. First of all, it's only been it's been 7 minutes, LOL. Wow. Um, um, the LOLs are for the transcription. I should reach out to. There's a girl I have chatted with a couple times on substack who writes really great articles on, um, horror and like feminism and similar to the couple of books I've read recently. Yeah, okay. The screen with me one, which is specifically, or no, the screen with me one was not specifically about the screen movies. It was about movies in, like, the 60s and 70s, about, like, women's movements.
