It'd be amazing if he died before Hades Town, the Pro Shot came out, because it's like such a heavily, heavily politically themed show, and there's like so many Easter eggs in it. Like the whole. I mean, I mean, it's not even like Easter eggs pretty in your face. Like why we build the wall.
It's like, I think actually that was written before Trump. Uh, even got elected in 2016. I need to go watch that again. Okay, that would be actually really helpful for context for this pro shot. I'm gonna, like, tell people to watch it.
Usually I'm kind of like, I mean, no, I actually am pretty like, everybody come enjoy the thing I enjoy. But like musicals, I feel like I've gotten a little guarded with Hades town. I'm just like, it's just it's just so my favorite. And I don't want to get sick of it.
It's like, I don't think I, and it's like, I've seen it like 3 times now. I've been listening to music for years. I still go back and revisit Hamilton and whatnot. Like, it's not like I just like, you know, I think it's just like Hamilton, it's like, I don't need to see it live again for a while because it's like expensive. And it's like Hades town, I'd probably go see live again, pretty much anytime. As long as it was, like, affordable. Yeah. Which, it was... Which it was very affordable.
I feel like we ended up with like a cool perspective on the show. Because, like... Me too. That would have been very nice. Those were taken. I did try to. I tried to on both sides to see. But, yeah. There was a moment there where I just couldn't see, like, half the stage.
Yeah, maybe I'm also a little, like, nobody better ever bring any controversy about Hades Town up because I can't. I can't have I can't have it get so big that somebody that it's like a, it's like a fucking where like everybody was mad at Lin-Manuel Miranda for a while. Something with Puerto Rico? I like literally can't remember why they were mad at him. I... He's from Puerto Rico. Yeah. And he like, it was something like about how it was something he said about it or like being exploit. I don't even, I'm gonna misspeak. Something about it being exploitive. I'm not sure, but then he did like this huge, like, relief concert in or, like, like a live performance in Puerto Rico, I think. So, maybe I'm dripping. I don't know. There was something. I've not heard anything about them. I know. So, like, also his shows are, like, like, very famously intentionally diverse.
kind of like what we were talking about like earlier, like how, okay, we was learning about a, you know, randoms on our side. Yeah. Why are we trying to cancel it for like... Exactly. Well, maybe it's, I think it was maybe like he wasn't doing very much to like support, like give back to Puerto Rico at the time. But I feel like he does he does do a lot of that. You know, maybe... Yeah. Maybe I need to look. I need to like, actually refresh my memory before I'm just speaking about this. I don't like the feeling of like that I'm accidentally talking shit on somebody and I'm saying something that's not true. I hate, I like hate the thought of spreading misinformation to the point that like even in my voice note recordings, I'm like, I'm like, hey, recite this later. Actually, Google research into that because I'm curious now what the problem was. And if we're still mad, I don't think we are, to my knowledge.
Maybe people just kind of got sick of Hamilton and they were just like, I'm sick of seeing his face around. He was around. He was pretty everywhere. hate all things that are popular. Especially when he's like, I wrote this show and I wrote the music for this show. I think I'm going to go ahead and start this show and then like tour the tour and like do all these things. Did he also tour? I don't think he toured, but he did the pro shop. He was in the pro shot, obviously. But, and then he had in the heights, and then he had Moana, and he was like throwing out a bunch of bangers for a while. I think people just kind of got maybe sick of him. Nobody wrote the music for it. And yeah, and like the movie of In the Heights, it's like all cast all of his buddies from Hamilton. So maybe they're just like, we just need a break.
You are still late in the shower. I'm very late at this point, but I was kind of leaning into it because I was like, I haven't had this kind of like inspirational creative day in a while where it's like, I have a couple of things that I am like thinking about writing about. Yeah, and I'll have some time, hopefully, over this next couple of minutes. We'll see.
And at the conference, if I'm gonna be having any spare time. But I bring my computer the hopes of. Show the way the world is gonna turn around. She can do it, so can she... I can just see this being, like, such a rallying cry of a show. right now. And I feel like that's what I wanted to get at. Like, I want to help amplify that. You think it's going to be as popular as Hamilton was, because Hamilton, I feel like, was kind of a push, like, cousin, limited on Miranda. What do you mean?
Like, a lot of people were like, Oh, yeah, nothing new show like let's go on that. I mean, he definitely already was famous from like in the heights and other previous projects, but I don't think he was anywhere near Hamilton Stardom until Hamilton happened. I think it was just like it hit the right place. It's exactly. It hit the right political moment and it just like skyrocketed upward. He like, he, like, revealed it to the world at Obama's, like, a dinner that he was at. and like performed part of the show. And then it was like, it was like during this time that was pretty divisive and everybody was like, oh damn, that like represents kind of a lot that's going on right now. And I feel like this show is for this moment. And it's like, I want to help it. I both want that to happen because I think it would be incredible for like morale of our country.
Like, musicals can be so inspiring. fucking Les Mis? It's like about the revolution. Like, and like, and so is Hamilton. Um, like, and this is about basically like unionizing. This whole show is like about unions and like how important it is to rise up against our oppressors. And, like, fuck capitalism and fuck your fucking, uh, yeah, fuck your coins and we just want flowers and like nature. And sometimes a little wine. And like, why can't... But to a point. That's maybe gonna not make the article. don't know. That's a mixed message for me.
But... Um, anything else? I think that was it. Obviously, Hades is Trump, but also, I think, of him. No, fuck no. But, like, the like, message behind it. They, you know, Trump, if he had any fucking ounce of talent or soul. I'm coming. Um. But he's also just like, it seems like there's a lot of abuse themes, although they do fall like back in love in the end. Like, it feels like a very, like a toxic, 1st of all, story of a relationship. That's a terrible way to meet a wife, to like steal her. Although, I guess, That's not necessary, it depends on the telling, whether that was the case. Yes, you mean. I'm excited to see how it turns out when it comes out. I hope it gets the same popularity. It'd be dope if it then, um, rising tides lift all ships, and then, um, chaos came back because of it.
