I know right? Another Target think piece.
I feel so betrayed by Target. It holds so many happy memories for me and my baby sister.
We lived near one growing up and it was where my mom took us when we all went out to get out of the house in the cold Midwest winters.
It’s where I got every swimsuit by default, prior to the explosion of online shopping. Most of my “nice” dresses, too.
Then 2025 happened.
It hasn’t been hard to give up, until today.
Just for a minute, I promise.
My little sister asked me to get my baby nephew the Miss Rachel Tony, which she said was only available at Target.
What was I supposed to do? My nephew is the light of my life. I get to see him in a couple of days and I simply need to be his hero.
Plus I’m the aunt that lives furthest away (at least for now) so I have to put in extra work to secure my spot as favorite.
So I make my coffee. I put on my rainbow sneakers. And I take my queer ass to Target.
It was a ghost town. Not going to lie, I did find a body spray that smelled good but I didn’t buy it.
No extra shopping. No little special treats. Miss Rachel or bust.
